Joan Kathryn Leeney, nee Douglas

Joan Leeney, age 73, a resident of Des Plaines, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and prayers of her family, on August 28, 2015.

Joan was born in New York City, NY on June 5, 1942 to parents George and Olga Douglas.  She was a devout member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect.

Beloved wife of James for 46 years. Loving mother of James Douglas Leeney (Jessie), and Cathy Ann Mitchum (Charles).  Dear grandmother of CJ.  Fond sister of the LouAnn, Gail, and the late Karen.  Aunt of many.

Visitation Tuesday, September 1, from 3-8 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect.  Lying in state Wednesday, 9:30AM until funeral service 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St. Mt. Prospect, IL.  Interment private.
